The Macbook Pro was first produced in 2009, and has become the most sought-after Mac portable ever since. The 13" Macbook Pro is often referred to as the A1278, which is the case number Apple uses. However, there are numerous versions of the "A1278", so don't be mistaken in models. For parts and repair purchasing, it is critical to know the year of your machine, also referred to as the Family Name for your Mac.
